Aviano Graduation Ceremony

Not much to this post, I just thought it would be nice to share some of the pictures from Aviano's Graduation Ceremony that was held here on base.

Friday, May 19

Even though I had already walked up in Germany at the UMUC Europe Graduation Ceremony, I had to walk at the Aviano Graduation Ceremony, especially since I do work for the school too. I'm also so glad I got Preston to walk again here in Aviano with me. The graduation ceremony was put on by the Air Force for the CCAF graduates and also for any school located here on base as well as for any other school that someone graduated from and wanted to walk in a graduation ceremony. I think it is nice this is offered here, since most people when they complete their degree while being stationed over here they cannot walk at their schools graduation.

This year there were actually a handful of Masters graduates from UMUC. Which I thought was very exciting, and with 2 that actually work for UMUC!

Free USO Trace Adkins Concert at Aviano Air Base

Who wouldn't want to go to a free country concert?! Since I have been here, which has been 3 years now, there has never been a concert put on by the USO for the services members and their families here. But finally, Aviano actually put together a concert with USO, they got Trace Adkins to come play a concert for our base. I was super excited! The only hard part was getting tickets, since there was only a limited number to give out because of where they had to have the concert at.


The first time I tried I got cut off right in front of me for how many tickets they were giving out that day. But luckily Preston was able to go another day and he got tickets for us.

Friday, May 12

Even with the location being at the school playground, it actually was not as bad as I was thinking it was going to be.

Trace Adkins was amazing to hear live! And also be as close as we were to the stage! I could almost reach out and touch him.

So glad Aviano was able to get Trace Adkins to come to our base. I know he is a big supporter of the military and I know everyone here appreciated him coming all the way over here for a concert, to then fly back stateside, as he is on tour right now. Now that is true dedication and showing your support for the military and their families!

Hopefully the USO will have someone else come over again before we PCS out of here.
