Skiing in Cortina

Saturday, March 19

For the last ski trip of the season we decided to go to Cortina. We needed to make sure that this place was still one of the best places to go. Last year this is where Preston and Bryce feel in love with skiing, so were hoping it still does that same. Sadly Bryce couldn't come with us, so it was just the 3 of us, Preston, Jacob and I.

The nice thing about Cortina, is that it is only about 2 hours away from our house.

We were probably the luckiest people ever with how perfect the weather was for our last ski trip this season! It was clear blue skis, not a cloud in sight!

Time to test out these slopes again! But first, we had to take pictures at the top to show how beautiful it was!

(Pretending Bryce is missing from the picture)

Time to ski!

This time we started at the opposite side of the mountain than last year. This was nice because last year we didn't even make it to this side since Preston and Bryce were still trying to learn how to ski and also not hate it.

I love how many different slopes you can choose to go down on European mountains. Always keep it entertaining! Also, it is nice that the slopes are not only 30 seconds or so, some of them after looking at my GoPro, we were skiing for at least 8 minutes straight or more. Definitely a leg workout!!

We skied for a little bit but then decided to stop at one of the bars/restaurants to get a drink and relax for a minute, while enjoying the amazing view!

Back to skiing with the clear blue skies!

After skiing for a few hours it was time for lunch.

The next slope we went down, we were going to go to the closest restaurant. Which actually ended up being a good choice.

We were lucky this time, it was not super crowded and packed like every other time we tried to eat lunch after skiing.

I ended up getting tortellini with speck and a cream sauce. You almost can never go wrong with this dish. And of course my usual drink, prosecco.

After lunch is always the hardest to start skiing again, as you are so relaxed and stuffed from the delicious food. But eventually we always get our feet back under us and feel awake again.

We ended up skiing until about 4pm, which is about when they start to close down the chairlifts. I will say this was a perfect way to end this year's ski season. Perfect weather, perfect slopes and probably the first time ever, no "bad" things happened. :)

Can't wait until the next ski season! But I am also really glad beach season is upon us!
